  • How to Create account in Malawi e-Permit Portal?

    Applicants has to register in e-Permit portal before applying for any permit services. Please click on "Create Account" . If you are already having an account with us then login here "Login".

  • How to access the system if i forgot my password?

    Please click here to retreive your password "Forget Password" . You have to provide your email id and security answer which you have provided while creating your account in the system.

  • Do I need any specific software to submit an application?

    Only an internet browser is required. All major browsers are supported. Please verify the release of the browser is the most up to date.

  • How I can check my application status?

    Any change in the status of your application will be sent to the email specified during the application process. These communications can be also checked through the Malawi electronic Permit web site in Application Status from the global navigation menu.
    Remember that for accessing your application you should provide your application Id, the passport number used for the application process and your date of birth.

  • How do I extend / renew my permit?

    Extending / Renewing your current valid permit can be done through "Renew / Extend Permit" from the global navigation menu. For extending a permit applied using the Malawi electronic Permit web site you should provide the application Id of the permit to extend, the passport number used for the permit to extend and the date of birth.

  • Can i cancel my application?

    You can cancel your application at any moment however the fee paid (if any) will not be refunded. The cancellation should be done through dashboard by clicking on cancel icon in the application status grid "Cancel Application"

  • Can I pay my application online?

    Online payment servcice is not available at this moment. All the payments has to be made through FDH Bank counters located at Immigration Offices in Malawi.

  • Do I need to bring a printout or digital copy of my permit aproval email to the point of entry / Immigration offices?

    It is recommended. The application number present in the approval letter will be used for accessing your application at the point of entry / immigration offices so bringing it printed will speed up the final approval process done.

  • How do i migrate from one permit type to another permit type?

    Those who are not enrolled in e-Permit system, need to visit nearest immigration office to enroll first and then proceed with submission of new application for migration. It can be done through "Migrate to another Permit" . For replacing a permit, it is mandatory to provide the permit Id of the permit to replace, the passport number used for the permit to replace and the date of birth.

  • I am having technical difficulties submitting my application

    There are a number of things that could be causing you problems. Please ensure that your computer meets the minimum configuration requirements.
    Only an internet browser is required. All major browsers are supported. Please verify the release of the browser is the most up to date.
    If your computer meets the minimum configuration requirements and you are still having technical problems, then this could be a web browser or firewall problem. Check your internet security settings - if they are set too high, they may be blocking access to the Malawi electronic Permit web site. If that doesn't work try applying from another browser/computer. Finally, some ISPs may be blocked due to spam concerns, and you may have to contact your local internet service provider (ISP) for assistance.
    If the system will not accept your passport number, try entering it in without any spaces between the numbers.
    If the system will not accept your phone number, try to enter it again, but do not use any brackets such as ( ) or hyphens - or spaces between the numbers. Only numbers and the "+" character are valid.
    If the system will not let you go to the next page, the system may have found an error in a required field (such as an invalid Character, skipped a field, etc.) You will not be allowed to continue until these errors have been corrected. If a mandatory field (indicated by a red *) is not filled in properly, the system will continually return you to the current page.
    The system WILL NOT accept special characters such as or accent marks - even in a name. Use only the English letters, with no special punctuation. Please enter the name as it appears in the machine readable zone (MRZ) your passport. This is the two lines of text with numbers and chevrons (‹‹‹) at the bottom of the personal information page with the passport bearer's picture.
    If your computer freezes up and will not let you continue, the problem is most likely with your browser or your computer capacity. You may need to use a different computer.
    If you are receiving an error message that says "Cannot apply twice with the same passport for the same permit type (same passport number, same document type and same issuing country)" it is because you have applied previously and your application is being studied.
    If you are still having technical problems, please click on "Support" from the global navigation menu. You are required to have an email address for us to respond to. If you do not, ask someone who does to help you. Be sure to describe exactly what is happening (in English), and tell us what internet browser you are using and its version.
